CRESTVIEW, Fla (WKRG) — Crestview Police held a ceremony to honor fallen officers from around the country.
This is all part of National Police Week, which started Monday. The ceremony was held outside the Crestview Police Department, and around 130 names of fallen officers were read.
The ceremony was held at 6:15 a.m. by the department’s chaplaincy division. One officer told News 5 the ceremony is a good way for the public to understand the dangers of the job. Officials say other departments will have events throughout the week to honor the fallen officers.
