Northwest Florida

CENTURY, Fla. (WKRG) — Wednesday marks one week since a four-year-old boy was run over outside Carver Community Center in Century.

Family and friends of Ka’Merius Ja’Kel Dortch came together for a memorial vigil with blue and white balloons, stuffed animals, flowers and candles.

Neighbors say there were a lot of kids there playing basketball at the time he was run over. His siblings and the other children saw what happened.

Albert Knight, 66, was in her Ford SUV when she hit the child. No charges have been filed, according to FHP.

The boy’s funeral is set for Saturday.
