ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — The Flora-Bama has a huge fundraiser that benefits St. Jude called Bulls on the Beach.
The professional riders from all over the area had about eight seconds to tame the powerful bulls.
The rodeo was invitation only but it was a family event, there was plenty of music and games.
They did not just have live bulls, they also had a mechanical one that News 5’s Bryant Clerkley was able to try out.
The rodeo is also on Saturday, doors open at 6 but the rodeo does not start until eight.
Friday was Romona Patton’s first time.
“I’ve always wanted to come,” Patton said. “They’ve been doing this for about five years and this is my first opportunity. I love to see the bulls and the cowboys!”
A portion of the proceeds goes to St. Jude, which has a mission of advancing research for pediatric diseases.
