BREAKING: Deputies confirm body found along Escambia River is missing Flomaton woman

UPDATE (12/14) — According to Escambia County Alabama deputies, the woman’s body that was found along the Escambia River on Sunday, December 9th is that of 74-year-old Eva McBride. 

McBride was last seen at her residence in the Flomaton area on November 23, 2018. On December 5th the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office announced the case was being investigated as a homicide even though there was no evidence of foul play at the time, but investigators say they are assuming the worst. 

The location of where the body was found is likely 10 miles or less from where she was last seen. 


JAY, Fla. (WKRG) — A woman’s body was found along the bank of Escambia River in Jay, Florida. 

Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s deputies say they received a call around 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, December 9 in reference to a woman who was found dead along the Escambia River. 

The location was approximately one mile south of Terrell Landing Boat Ramp. Detectives are actively working this death investigation. 

The identity of the deceased has not been confirmed. We will release information as it becomes available.
