Bicyclist seriously injured in Okaloosa County hit and run

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A bicyclist has been seriously injured after being hit by a car that left the scene in Okaloosa County Thursday afternoon. 

The Florida Highway Patrol investigating the accident says 36-year-old David Joseph Archer of Baker, Fla. was riding on US Highway 90 just west of Antioch Road in the bicycle lane. 

Troopers say a car hit the cyclist and continued west on Highway 90 around 2 p.m.

Archer was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in serious condition. 

The make and model of the car involved is not known at this time. Troopers are asking anyone with information on this crash to please contact the Florida Highway Patrol at 850-484-500 or Crime Stoppers at 850-863-8477
