CRESTVIEW, Fla. (WKRG) – A car dealership in Northwest Florida has raised thousands of dollars to help buy toys for kids this Christmas.
Employees at Allen Turner Chevrolet in Crestview handed over a check Monday to the Crestview Police Department for $16,325. That money will go toward the Cops for Kids program that started about 20 years ago.
More than 50 employees have now signed up to donate some of their paycheck throughout the year to go toward the cause.
“This is as much of a benefit for our employees to get to give back to the community as it is for those who receive it,” Allen Turner said. “It’s a great program that the police department has put on and they’re large enough to orchestrate that where we can’t so coming alongside them and sharing in that is a great opportunity for us.”
Those who need help can sign their kids up at the Crestview Police Department. The deadline to apply is next Monday, December 10.
