Over 46,000 pounds of debris was collected during the Mayfair North Neighborhood Cleanup effort on June 13. The collection was a part of the ongoing effort to help keep area neighborhoods safe and clean.

The free trash pick-up day allowed any resident in the Mayfair North neighborhood to leave items curbside to be disposed of.

According to a news release, there was high participation from residents, with about 17,340 pounds of yard waste, 21,180 pounds of bulk waste, 6,400 pounds of tires and 1,820 pounds of household hazardous waste placed curbside.

The release also showed that in the past two years, more than 1,621 tons (3,243,000 pounds) of debris were collected and disposed of through the Community Redevelopment Agency’s Safe Neighborhood Program, says Escambia County.

Escambia County Community Redevelopment Agency has an ongoing partnership with county waste services, Environmental Code Enforcement, Public Works, Animal Services and Road Prison, along with the City of Pensacola Sanitation Department and Keep Pensacola Beautiful.
