PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A woman in Escambia County, Florida is facing child neglect charges after two small children were found walking alone outside, according to Pensacola Police.

Someone driving in the 3900 block of N 9th Avenue on Monday spotted the children walking near the roadway and stopped to get the children to a safe place, police said.

Officers hit the surrounding neighborhood. After two hours of searching, police arrested 19-year-old Ann Margaret Perry in the 200 block of E. Highland Drive — approximately half a mile from where the children were found walking alone.

Perry was sleeping and unaware that the children, a 2-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl, were walking alone outside, police said.

Pensacola Police were unable to comment on Perry’s relationship with the children.
