No gator attack in Orlando after teams recover woman's body from pond

ORLANDO, FL (WKRG) - Crews in central Florida have found the body of a woman in a pond thought to be the scene of an alligator attack on Wednesday, though officials now say there are no signs of a gator attacking anyone.

The woman has not been identified, Orlando authorities said, and an investigation into the woman's death is underway.

The victim's disappearance into the water was originally thought to be the result of a gator attack after a witness heard a teenager yell, "it bit me, it bit me."
Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jeff Williamson said in a Thursday morning email that the marine unit found the body and a gator attack has been ruled out.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Orange County Fire Rescue and the Orange County Sheriff's Office took part in the search.
