Forensic tests have confirmed human remains found in Citronelle were those of a man missing for two years.

Zach Bell was 22 years old at the time of his disappearance in February 2016.

“I asked that you be in prayer for Zach’s family as they go through this difficult time. Thanks to all the first responders and volunteers who help search for Zach,” Citronelle Mayor Jason Stringer posted on Facebook on Wednesday.

A woman found the skeletal remains while fishing at a hunting camp near Deer Chase North and Lonnie Walker Road Sunday evening.

“My prayers and those of The City of Citronelle are with the family and friends,” the mayor wrote in the post.
