Protesters Dressed as Handmaids Booted from Roy Moore Rally

FAIRHOPE, Ala. (WKRG) — Close to 50 people showed up Tuesday night to protest Roy Moore’s rally in Fairhope.

Most of the demonstrators were women dressed as handmaids to draw attention to sexual assault allegations against Moore.

“We want the world to know the women are telling the truth,” said Ginger Poynter. “The Oppression of women sexual assault of women and girls.”

The protestors first tried to walk onto the property at Oak Hollow Farm but were turned away by law enforcement.

Instead, the protestors stood by the front gates waving signs and chanting as people drove into the property.

At least two other people were removed from the event for outbursts during Moore’s speech.
