People from all over the country packed the Flora- Bama for its 34th annual Mullet Toss.
The key of the competition is to toss the fish from the Florida state line over to Alabama.
The event raises money for local charities. One woman says she comes down with her friends every year.
“It was pretty interesting,” Wendy Dumouy said. “The best part about it was after they throw their mullet, they have to run and go get it. Often times they would fall.”
Rob Westfall says he’s going to be participating in Saturday’s competition. Whoever throws the mullet the farthest wins.
“It’s slippery you know,” Westfall said. “It’s fishy because it’s a fish. There’s no easy way to toss a mullet.”
The event goes until Sunday.
