Officer Justin Billa will be remembered Tuesday as his family, community, and first responders from across the country will come together for his funeral. Officer Billa’s family says he was a collector of police patches. They are asking any first responders who visit for the funeral to bring a patch to honor Officer Billa.

News 5 is also collecting patches from across the country through social media efforts and our sister television stations who are part of Nexstar Media owned stations.

We’ve received word already that there are patches on the way from Kentucky, Richmond Virginia, Las Vegas Nevada, the Memphis area, North Mississippi, Texas and many more areas.

News 5 will deliver any patches that arrive before Tuesday to Officer Billa’s funeral and make sure that any patches that are delivered after will also get to the family. If you have friends or family who are first responders please share this with them as well.

If you are a first responder and would like to send a patch, mail it to:
