MLB suspends business relationship with Papa John's

(WFLA/AP) - Major League Baseball has indefinitely suspended its business relationship with Papa John’s after the company’s chairman of the board apologized for using a racial slur and resigned, Yahoo Sports reports.

The league's relationship with the pizza franchise began in 2016 when the Papa Slam promotion was born, giving baseball fans a 40 percent discount off the regular price the day after a grand slam is hit in a MLB game.

According to the report, the league has canceled the deal.

Papa John’s announced late Wednesday that Schnatter had resigned. Forbes said Schnatter used the N-word during a media training exercise in May.
