MPD Makes Arrest in Two-Year-Old Murder Case

Mobile Police Chief James Barber confirms that they’ve arrested Steve Mason as a suspect for the 2015 murder of 24-year-old Ke’lei Morris.

Morris was found shot in the head at Arlington Park Apartments on Grelot Road in February 2015.

Mason was arrested after a warrant was issued from a grand jury indictment. On the way to jail, Mason said he knew Morris, but claimed he did not kill her.

Police did not say what relationship, if any, Mason and Morris had.

In 2002 Mason was convicted of the murder of Mesha Anglin, but only served three years in prison after being granted youthful offender status.
