One of five teens shot at a concert at The Grand Hall in Mobile has died.
Anesa Baker, a 15-year-old student at McGill-Toolen, had been hospitalized in critical condition ever since the shooting on Easter Sunday.
“It saddens us that Anesa Baker has succumbed to her injuries as a result of the shooting,” Mobile Police Chief Lawrence Battiste said in a statement on Wednesday. “We will remain diligent in continuing to follow up on all investigative leads.”
A prayer vigil is planned for Wednesday evening at The Bright Spot at 2501 East I-65 Service Road, according to Prichard City Councilman Lorenzo Martin. Members of the community are invited to attend.
Mobile Police have made three arrests in connection with the shooting. In addition to the five teens who were shot, two more were trampled.
