Justin Billa has been named the Officer of the Month for June 2016 by the Mobile Police Department. Billa began working as an officer in January of this year. He has been applauded for his investigation into complaints of a man committing robberies in the 200 block of North Ann Street and in the area of Rylands Street and Adams Street. The officer spotted the suspect and pursued him. He eventually was able to arrest the suspect and charge him with first-degree robbery.This month Billa has made two felony and 17 misdemeanor arrests. He has responded to 135 calls for service and 11 backups, and wrote 17 citations.Billa’s commanding officer said Billa pays attention to detail and provides a professional level of law enforcement service to the city of Mobile.Billa was recognized at the Officer of the Month luncheon on Tuesday at the Azalea Golf Course Club sponsored by the Midtown Optimist Club.
