UPDATE: MPD reward offered for suspect that shot at police

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) - Update Tuesday 8:29 a.m.

Mobile Police have released new information in the shooting that took place on Sunday May 6th. Police say the suspect’s vehicle is described as a long wheel base dark color passenger vehicle with the parking lights in the front grill. The vehicle was occupied by at least two unknown suspects. There is no suspect description available.

Update Monday 8:56 a.m.

Mobile Police are offering a cash reward for the arrest of a suspect responsible for shooting at a Police cruiser Sunday night. 

Mobile Police Cyber Intelligence unit is asking anyone with information to call 251-208-7211, 251-208-1745 or send them a private message on Facebook. They say anyone who calls will remain anonymous



Update 9:51 p.m.

Mobile Police responded to a complaint of shots being fired in the Oaklawn Apartments at 1010 Baltimore Street. When officers arrived unknown subject(s) fired multiple shots at a police patrol vehicle, according to Mobile Police. A spokesperson with Mobile Police says the officer returned fire. The officer was not injured and no other injuries have been reported at this time. 

Police say the area was searched for the suspect(s) with negative results.

There is a heavy police presence in the 1000 block of Baltimore Street in Mobile.

A Mobile Police car is blocked off with crime tape. There is shattered glass next to the police vehicle and what appears to be at least two bullet holes in the driver's side of the windshield of the car. There is no word on any officers being injured yet.

Investigators are on scene and say they will be releasing information shortly.
