“First day, first day a nervous wreck”
George Stinson might have some nervous jitters about his first day on the job, but guarding the Escambia County Building is important.
“I take my job very seriously, I do the best that I can to protect them and myself.”
Stinson, says he’s been on the job hunt for a while and is thankful the county had so many job openings.
“This day and time, as far as homeland security it’s kind of scary, ” says Stinson.
Tom Turner is the Human Resources Director for Escambia County. He says there’s a simple reason for all the job openings a generational change.
“The departure of baby boomers, we’re seeing a significant number of those people retiring and we are needing to fill those positions,” says Turner.
Turner says the process to apply is simple. “Go to our website at MyEscambia.com and they’ll see a new easy button to get to apply.”
Just a few clicks, and fill out the correct personal information…and you could be well on your way to a new career much like George Stinson.
“It’s a good thing for those of us, who still want to earn income coming in,” says Stinson.
