Alberto Downgraded but Still a Flood Threat in Alabama

Alberto made landfall close to Laguna Beach, FL which is just northwest Panama City, this afternoon. It left over 5 inches of rain in much of Walton County, Florida

The threat for impacts lessens for the western portion of the News 5 Area, but increases for the eastern-most counties. Alberto is now in south central Alabama as a subtropical depression. It remains a flood threat along a forecast track into northern Alabama.

Beaches will continue to feel the impacts of Alberto in the form of strong rip currents for much of this week.

Keep checking the WKRG website and Facebook page and free Weather App for weather updates from the First Alert Storm Team. These projections will change as the storm gets closer.
