It’s legal now in California, so why make people wait in line to buy their favorite cannabis products?
The legal marijuana business is all about innovation these days, so it was only a matter of time before this would come on the scene.
A Santa Cruz shop has rolled one of the first-of-its-kind cannabis vending machines.
The KindPeoples cannabis shop on Soquel Avenue has the requisite bud bar where customers can browse.
But for those who don’t have time to smell the roses, if you will, there is a vending machine where you simply “grab and go,” says Marketing Director Brett Friel.
“A lot of customers come in, and they know exactly what they want, so they have the ability to sign in, grab the products, and get going, so it’s really just a convenience machine,” Friel said.
It’s a convenience machine with touch-screen technology, with high-resolution photos and a full line of products and pricing at your fingertips.
“Whether it be flowers or vaporizers, or edibles or chocolate, so there’s a little something for everyone,” Friel said.
The machine does not accept credit cards, just cash. The interface is fairly straightforward.
Simply swipe your ID And start shopping.
The machine has a built-in security application that will verify your age.
“So, there will not be anyone under the age of 21 who has access to the machine between checking in at reception, getting in our database as well as checking IDs at the door,” Friel said. “We have triple verified that you are of age to consume cannabis.”
Friel expects the machine will appeal to customers who may be somewhat introverted about their purchase or simply want to have a conversation about it.
“If you know your product and perhaps this is a busy time, and you don’t want to wait in a line, now you have access to a quick, easy and grab-and-go situation,” Friel said.
