Early Morning Wreck Claims One Life


WASHINGTON COUNTY, Ala. (WKRG) – Alabama State Troopers are investigating an early morning wreck that killed one person.

It happened around 2:20 a.m. this (Wednesday 8/2) morning on Highway 56, about 12 miles east of Chatom, Alabama.

State troopers say it appears the driver lost control, ran off the road, flipped and struck a utility pole. The driver has been identified as 21-year-old Caleb Michael Bailey of Saint Stephens, Ala.

Troopers say the driver was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the crash.
