Derrick Dearman Pleads Not Guilty in the Citronelle Murders

MOBILE, AL (WKRG) — The man accused of gruesomely murdering six people in Citronelle, including an unborn child, has pleaded not guilty.

Derrick Dearman, 27, appeared in court Wednesday morning and submitted the plea of not guilty, despite turning himself in for the five murders that investigators describe as “the most disturbing murder scene” they’ve ever seen.

Dearman was extradited from Greene County, Mississippi — after turning himself in after fleeing to his father’s house — to Mobile County, where he’s been kept isolated from the rest of the inmates at Mobile Metro Jail.

As we’ve reported extensively on News 5, investigators say Dearman is responsible for the worst mass killing in Mobile County history.
