All-in-all it wasn’t a bad start. The West End Beach on Dauphin Island opened for the first day of the 2016 Season. Families were eager to get out and at least get one good beach day in before bad weather was expected to swoop over the area.
“It’s pretty warm, pretty cool over there, but this is where it’s at,” said Joseph Cox from Mobile. It was a fairly busy crowd too. Some high winds created some rough conditions on the gulf side of the beach while the bay side remained mostly calm.
“I like the marine life, they like going to that, that’s fun to us you know,” said Brandon Fulkerson who was visiting with his wife and two small children.
