Man caught putting white bodily fluid into co-worker's drink, police say

FLORIDA (WFLA) - - A Tallahassee man is facing battery charges after he was allegedly caught on camera putting bodily fluids into his co-worker's drink.

WTXL reports 62-year-old Robert Tyson was arrested last Wednesday and booked into the county jail.

Police said a woman filed a criminal complaint alleging her co-worker, Tyson, had put bodily fluids in her water mug on July 2.

The victim told police she was drinking out of the mug all morning and later noticed a mucousy white-colored substance floating in the drink. The woman said she suspected it was intentionally placed in the drink that had been sitting unattended at her desk. She also recalled a similar incident that happened the week before when she noticed her water tasted weird and there was a similar substance in her drink, police said.

According to police, the woman and another employee reviewed security video from that day and saw Tyson enter her office and pour something into her drink. He was immediately fired.

Police said Tyson has declined to answer questions about the incident, but he sent several letters to human resources admitting his guilt and blaming his actions on exhaustion due to his busy work schedule, WTLX reported. He was reportedly unaware the incident was recorded on video.

"I am attaching a letter of admission of guilt and a plea to end this matter quickly. I pray it will. My life is a total wreck right now," Tyson said in the e-mail, according to police.

According to police, the victim believed she was targeted because Tyson disliked her management style. He allegedly sent several letters to the woman and her employer, saying he did not think she was an effective office manager.

He is charged with two counts of battery and is being held at the Leon County Detention Center where he was ordered to not have any contact with the victim.
