Fort Walton Beach Police Arrest Homicide Suspect

FORT WALTON BEACH, FL (WKRG) - Fort Walton Beach Police have arrested a wanted homicide suspect.

According to a press release from the Fort Walton Beach Police Department, a black man, identified as 38-year old Antwan Darnell Cosey, was said to be on a Greyhound bus traveling to Fort Walton Beach with a final destination of Panama City. They were told this by the Minneapolis, Minnesota Police Department. They were also told that Mr. Cosey could be armed with a handgun.

Surveillance was set up by officers as they waited for the arrival of the bus. Upon arrival, officers observed two individuals leaving the bus, neither of them matching the description of the suspect. Officers then blocked the bus from leaving as it was preparing to do so. A police reaction team entered the bus, identified Mr. Cosey, and took him into custody without incident. At the time, no weapon was found. Mr. Cosey was then transferred to the custody of the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office.
