UPDATE: Passenger dispute leads to emergency landing of Southwest flight at Pensacola International Airport


PENSACOLA, Fla. (WKRG) — A commercial aircraft made an emergency landing at Pensacola International Airport, airport marketing manager Lewis Garvin said Wednesday.

Southwest Airlines released the following statement Wednesday evening:

“A Southwest flight operating from Dallas Love Field safely diverted to Pensacola International Airport on Wednesday afternoon due to a dispute between two passengers traveling together. After the two passengers exited the aircraft in Pensacola, the flight continued to Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood International Airport. We appreciate the patience, cooperation, and support of the Customers onboard today.”

The commercial plane was diverted to Pensacola and landed safely at about 4 p.m. No injuries were reported. Garvin said damage to the aircraft was minimal.
