The Mothers of two Gulf Coast Marines killed in action in Iraq and Afghanistan were presented with lasting reminders of their sons. The P.L. Wilson Detachment of the Marine Corps League in Mobile presented the women with bronze busts of their sons.
Lance Corporal Bradley Faircloth was killed during the fierce fighting in Fallujah, Iraq during 2004. Corporal Joseph Whitehead was killed in the Helmond Province of Afghanistan in 2011.
Marine Corps League members raised the funds for the busts, which cost about $5000 apiece. Kathleen Faircloth and Melanie Miller will keep the busts until a later date when a permanent display for each will be decided.
