Gilchrist County Sheriff Bobby Schultz has identified the fallen deputies as Noel Ramirez and Taylor Lindsey.
GILCHRIST COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office were killed on Thursday.
According to the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office, the deputies were shot and killed in front of a Chinese restaurant in downtown Trenton around 3 p.m.
A suspect walked up to the business and shot both deputies through the window.
As fellow deputies responded to the scene, they found the shooter dead outside the business.
Both deputies died of their wounds.
The investigation is ongoing at this time with no apparent motive or indications as to why the tragedy occurred.

Two deputies from the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office were killed on Thursday, according to the Levy County Sheriff.
The deputies died shortly after a shooting incident in the Trenton area.
The Levy County sheriff confirmed the suspect is dead as well.
“GILCHRIST COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE has suffered a terrible tragedy,” says a post from the Gilchrist County’s account.
“Please avoid the area of SR 26 from the red light to the area of subway. No suspects are at large. Further updates will be posted later.”
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement did not confirm whether the deputies died during the shooting.
Trenton is about 30 miles west of Gainesville.
No further information was immediately released.
