UPDATE (5:35 a.m.) Steve Huffman with Mobile Fire and Rescue tells News 5 the building was vacant and no one was injured.
The fire caused $40,000 in damage. An investigation is being conducted on the cause of the fire.
UPDATE (4:25 a.m.) Fire crews have extinguished the fire at a home on Woodlawn Drive East. Firefighters at the scene tell News 5 no one was inside and the home appears to have been abandoned.
