Body on Santa Rosa Island identified, no foul play suspected

UPDATE (6:01 P.M.) — The body has been identified as that of 50-year-old Timothy Adsit of Milton, according to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. No foul play is suspected.

SANTA ROSA ISLAND, Fla. (WKRG) — UPDATE (10/11) — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office says they are still working to confirm the identity of the body found floating along the shoreline of Santa Rosa Sound Thursday.

The sheriff’s office says an autopsy was performed Friday by the District 1 Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause, manner, and time of death. Investigators say no indications of foul play were found.

ORIGINAL SOTRY (10/10) — The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office is on scene just east of the Santa Rosa County line on Santa Rosa Island after an unidentified body washed ashore on Eglin Air Force Base property. The circumstances surrounding the death are not yet known. A 911 call was received around 1:21 p.m. Thursday. Additional information is not yet available but will released at a later time.
