The Pensacola Blue Wahoos kicked off Military Appreciation Month with an interesting new feature at ball games. Five military mascots, that represent the branches of the U.S. military, are now out and about at the games, and they also race.

During Wednesday night’s game with the Mississippi Braves, the five mascots took the field at the bottom of the fourth inning to race around the field.

The race will now become a staple at Blue Wahoos games, and the first running was met with much fanfare on Wednesday.

The mascots honor the five branches of the military including the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and the Coast Guard.

The Pensacola Blue Wahoos are currently in the midst of a five-game homestand with the Braves. Tickets to the games are available on the Blue Wahoos website
