SWAT standoff ends in Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, Ala. (WKRG) - A SWAT standoff in Gulf Shores has ended peacefully.

Officers with the Gulf Shores Police department along with the FBI and S.W.A.T. responded to a mobile home park around 1:00 p.m. Tuesday off County Road 6.

Police were called out for a welfare check after a neighbor heard a woman calling for help inside a home.

Police were communicating with two people — a man and a woman — inside the home.

Just before 4:00 p.m., both people came out of the home peacefully.

Gulf Shores Police said no crimes were committed during the standoff, but the pair would be transported to other agencies that had active warrants on them.
