Loxley landmark closing Sunday, reopening down the road

Loxley, AL (WKRG) - A Loxley landmark is closing its doors today but plans are already in the works to reopen it down the road.  Today is the last day of business for the Burris Farm Market on Highway 59 in Loxley.  Current owner Rick Stewart announced last week he would close the Loxley business August 12.  A recent Facebook post claimed increased competition from supermarkets, decreased traffic due to the relatively new beach express and the BP Oil disaster all contributed to the market's decline.

It's not the end though. News 5 reported last week that the original owner, Greg Burris plans on coming out of retirement to run the market once again.  The location will reopen at some point under a different, as of yet undecided, name.
