Police: Fox captured in Robertsdale had rabies

ROBERTSDALE, Alabama (WKRG) - The Robertsdale Police Department has confirmed that a fox that was captured on Sunday has tested positive for rabies.

The department on Monday released body camera footage showing the capture of the fox. It can be seen charging at the officer and ends just before the officer strikes the fox. The fox can be seen charging at the officer and ends just before the officer strikes the fox.

On Sunday afternoon, a man says he was bitten in the foot by a fox in Robertsdale while sitting on his porch.

The man was taken to get "appropriate medical attention," according to Robertsdale Police. The incident happened on Mattingly Street around 1:00 p.m. Police searched but could not locate the fox. Two hours later park goers called police about a fox that was charging a group of people. Officers were able to capture the fox at the park on East Chicago Street.
