HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) — U.S Attorney General Jeff Sessions is returning to Central Alabama for a national public safety symposium. Sessions is expected to address a crowd of people attending the Public Safety Partnership Symposium — put on by the U.S Department of Justice; this was a partnership created a year ago under his administration.
According to the DOJ’s website, it was created apart of the DOJ’s commitment to reducing crime, and the partnership provides a framework for enhancing federal support of state and local enforcement officials as they pursue violent criminals.
Last year, we reported that Birmingham was one of 12 cities selected to receive special assistance.
The symposium will begin at 8:30 Monday morning at the Wynfrey Hotel in Hoover.
