According to the Mobile Police Department, 90-year-old Booker Green has died after being shot in the shoulder last week during a robbery.

The robbery occurred last Thursday (July 21) around 7 p.m. on Patton Avenue. Green was shot while sitting in his vehicle when a group of teens approached the car, demanded his money, and shot him.

After the shooting, Green told police that he was in his vehicle at Pecan Street and Belsaw Avenue (one block from Patton Avenue) when a group of four or five armed juveniles approached his vehicle. When he refused to hand over his money, they shot him in the shoulder.

At this time, there have been arrests. However, the case is now a murder investigation after Green passed away this morning around 7 a.m.

The shooting on Patton Avenue is near Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Three Mile Creek.
