The Spring Break parties at Orange Beach have claimed the life of a 21-year-old student attending college in Texas.

News 5 has confirmed Brayden Coverdale of Stephenville, Texas died on Sunday night on Perdido Beach Boulevard.  Orange Beach Police are investigating and currently awaiting autopsy results, though the cause of death is believed to be alcohol poisoning.

We’re told Coverdale had just arrived in town for a week-long vacation as part of Spring Break in Orange Beach.

Coverdale was a defensive lineman and captain with his high school football team, according to social media.  He played defensive end (6’2”, 225 pounds) for Tarleton State before transferring to Texas Tech in 2014.

On Facebook and Twitter, there’s been an outpouring of support for Brayden’s family.

The Alabama beaches and other beaches across the Gulf Coast continue to be popular destinations for Spring Break parties, where parties are known to promote alcohol and drug abuse.
