ILLINOIS (KRON)- – Finding a job can be tough and searching for one while still employed can be even harder— if you take into account scheduling interviews during your already busy schedule.
An Illinois woman decided to use her free time wisely by attending a job fair during her lunch break.
Ja’Naea Modest, who currently works at a nonprofit for mental and physical disabilities, told Buzzfeed News, “I love my job but I’m trying to move so I need some money.”
Modest said she finished her morning shift, quickly changed clothes and headed over to the job fair at a nearby middle school.
A recruiter suggested that she complete an application at the site.
“I was focused on the application — I did not know [the local news] was there. I had no idea what was going on — I came back, changed my clothes, and did the rest of my shift,” she explained.
Modest thought she was being discreet, that was until she saw herself on the news.
A local news station used footage of her at the job fair during one of their segments.
“They did a whole story on the job fair and at some point, they zoomed in on me doing the application,” she told Buzzfeed.
Since the cat was out of the bag and her current employer was well aware of her whereabouts, she shared the ordeal on Facebook.
