UPDATE: Amber Alert canceled after 5-year-old found safe

UPDATE 6:17 P.M.

5-year-old Ethan O. Robertson is now safe, and the Amber Alert has been canceled. Authorities are reportedly negotiating with the suspect in St. John, Washington.


SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. (KIRO/CBS)  – An Amber Alert has been issued for a 5-year-old boy who was taken from his Spokane Valley home.

According to the Spokane County sheriff a woman’s estranged husband broke into her home, stabbed his wife, took their child and then left at 5 a.m. Tuesday.

The suspect is 41-year-old Justin P. Robertson. He’s described as white, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 205 pounds, with green eyes and a goatee.  He was last seen wearing a green Adidas T-shirt and black Adidas shorts.

Robertson is believed to be driving a red 2014 Subaru Legacy with WA plate APN2450.

The victim is 5-year-old Ethan O. Robertson.  He’s white, weighs 30 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.  He was last seen wearing blue pajamas and an orange Nike T-shirt.

The sheriff’s office said Robertson has access to weapons, but it is not known if he has any in his possession.
