Robotic pants offer hope for mobility

A unique pair of pants could one day offer mobility to the elderly and people in wheelchairs around the world.

Bubbles sewn down the thighs of the pants act as extra muscles expanding with air to help a person stand and contracting to help them sit. Electrodes are also part of the design to stimulate leg muscles to move.

Coming up tonight on News 5 at 5, WKRG’s Jessica Taloney will show us when the pants could be available for mass production.
