LITTLE ROCK, Ark (KARK).- Halloween came early for some very little tricker treaters Tuesday.
Arkansas Children’s Hospital hosted its 3rd annual “Boo in the NICU.” Each family in the NICU got to pick out a costume for their baby. All of those costumes made by volunteers with the help of some of the parents.
“When you do have a baby in the NICU its really tough and sometimes you feel like rest of the world is moving on without you,” explained Luann Jones the NICU nursing director.
The hospital says they work to make the families feel as comfortable as possible during their stay.
NICU mom Candice Ward says the Halloween party was a great experience.
“Doing the costumes is particularly fun to be able to have the memories and the pictures and then also to be able to share that with my son. It is something that is a more normal part of life,” explained Ward.
Ward has been in the NICU with her baby since August 8.
ACH says they plan to continue the Halloween tradition for many years to come.
