HENRICO COUNTY, Vir. (CNN) — A Bible that is nearly 100 years old was left in a Henrico County, Virginia restaurant. And now, the restaurant’s manager, Ruben Navarette, is trying to get it back to its rightful owner.
The tattered Bible was found in a Ziploc bag in the bathroom of the Azzuro restaurant last October. In the front of the Bible, the name “Eleanor Pauline Dillard” and the date “December 25, 1923” were written.
Navarette has searched both the name and the date, and checked the restaurant’s reservation system but so far, he’s had no luck finding the owner.
Ruben Navarette/Manager, Azzuro Restaurant: “To me it’s not just a book, it’s something bigger than that,” says restaurant manager Ruben Navarette. “I think it was just an honest mistake. I think someone forgot they left it here or forgot they even brought it here.”
Navarette asks anyone with information that can help him get the antique Bible back to its owner to call the restaurant at 804-282-1509.
