UPDATE: according to KOMO TV  Two teen girls have come forward and said they were responsible for stringing a fishing line across a Graham street that injured a motorcyclist as he drove through it.

But Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies say the girls will not be arrested; that it was just a prank that went bad.

ORIGINAL STORY:

A Washington man says a prank almost cost him his life. He was riding his motorcycle when he hit fishing line strung across the road. The line left a cut on his neck, but the man feels his injuries could have been far worse.

Alex Teston drives with heightened caution and frustration after a scare he could not see coming.

Friday night, in the dark, Alex turned his motorcycle onto a road, and within a couple hundred feet e saw what looked like a flashlight beside the street. He then suddenly felt a tug backward, “all of a sudden my neck is jerked back and i grip my handle bar to not fall off my bike, and then i feel my neck of course get scratched.”

Alex somehow kept his balance despite the force that left this long cut across his neck. Alex couldn’t piece together what he hit until his friend reached out and said he drove his truck through fishing line this weekend. Alex filed a police report and a deputy came to the scene. Sure enough, they found fishing line tied to a pole.

“I think it was kids trying to play a prank but obviously don’t know the resulting consequences of their actions, “ Alex assumes the line ripped when he hit it, otherwise he might not have survived. And he worries the next rider might not escape with just a minor wound.
