Kids eat for free at restaurant if parents don’t use their phones

LONDON (WFLA) – Get ready to share a bowl of spaghetti with your family, uninterrupted, at the beloved modern Italian spot Frankie & Benny’s.

The British restaurant is trying to get you to put down your phones to enjoy a family dinner.

Frankie & Benny’s now has no-phone zones at its 250 restaurants in the UK, according to the Lancashire Evening Post.

As an incentive to keep eyes off the screen, if diners agree, their kid’s can get a free meal.

The concept is currently in a short trial phase.

A poll by Frankie & Benny’s found more than 7 of 10 children wished their parents would spend less time on their phones, and 10 percent have even hidden a parent’s mobile device in an effort to get back their attention and affection, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.
