Director John Singleton is in coma after having a major stroke more than a week ago.
That’s according to court documents filed thursday on behalf of singleton’s mother, Shelia Ward, who is seeking conservatorship.
The documents state the 51-year-old filmmaker cannot “provide for his personal needs” or “manage his financial resources.”
Singleton was the first black director nominated for an Oscar.
He is famous for movies including “Boyz-N-The Hood” and “Poetic Justice.”
Singleton’s family previously confirmed he had a stroke last week… but didn’t give details on his condition.
