ATLANTA (WFLA/CNN) – A riverkeeper recently made a gruesome discovery in the Chattahoochee River near Atlanta.
Jason Ulseth was on his regular patrol along the river when he found the bodies of more than 10 decapitated goats on Wednesday.
Ulseth says he was looking for pollution and fish kills when he came across white lumps floating in the water. He realized they were headless bodies of goats when he got closer.
The Chattahoochee River serves as the main water source for five million people in the Atlanta area.
“People that are dumping in this river go home and drink it out of their taps,” Ulseth told WSB-TV. “They don’t make that connection that they’re actually polluting their own water source.”
