Blinged out nails are one of the most popular beauty trends thanks in part to stars like Cardi B who flaunt their long, bedazzled nails on social media.
Liz Mina heads to Jenny’s Spa in the Bronx every few weeks for a manicure that can cost a few hundred dollars.
“Everyone knows you are fabulous just by your nails,” said Mina, who was inspired by Cardi B’s style and went straight to the mastermind behind the rapper’s fashionable fingers.
Jenny Bui created the nail look for Cardi’s Grammy appearance and for her Pepsi commercial that aired during the Super Bowl.
“Manicures are a new way for people to express their creativity,” said Theresa Massoney, style editor at Elite Daily. “I think people are finding this as a way to showcase their fun personalities.”
Mina admits the extravegant look isn’t practical.
“Eventually you will stab yourself in the eye once or rip a pair of stockings.”
But, she’s happily adapted to the long nail lifestyle, saying it gives her a confidence boost. “You are just strutting,” she said. “It makes you happy.”
