First the seats, then the overhead bins. Now an airline is shrinking something else onboard its planes.
American Airlines has debuted a tiny new restroom that is just 24 inches wide.
The airline has received complaints from travel bloggers, consumer advocates, and even flight attendants — but to no avail.
The restrooms are installed on the new Boeing 737-Max airplanes.
American is also planning to decrease the front-to-back space between some of its economy class seats by another two inches.
The new Max jets will have 172 seats, American said, compared to 160 on its existing 737-800s.
These new single-aisle aircraft will go into use later this year and will primarily be flown on routes in North America.
