Woman arrested for driving vehicle into gas station, hitting attendant

UPDATE: Mobile Police released the identity of the woman police say intentionally drove a vehicle into the Shell Gas station at 3660 Airport Boulevard Wednesday.

Police said in a news release Vanessa Weaver, 51, evaluated by medical personnel before being arrested and transported to Metro Jail.

The victim was transported to a hospital with “non-life-threatening injuries,” according to the release.

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — According to witnesses, a woman drove her vehicle into the Shell gas station on Airport Blvd at W. I-65 Service Road late Wednesday night.

A witness said she told people to step back before the woman ran her car into the building, injuring the clerk.

The clerk was taken to the hospital by ambulance. No word on her condition. Police took the driver into custody.
